Meeting - Wednesday 2nd Mach 2011

At our March meeting we had three ladies visit as Guest Speakers.
Edwina and Val provided a cookery demonstration. Talking about how to use Quark, a very low fat soft cheese which is an ideal carrier for other flavours. They created some stunning dips and an alternative lemon cheesecake. At the end of the demonstration, members were able to taste the creations. To round off the evening, Ann told several jokes.
I have detailed the recipes below for those of you who were not there or did not manage to pick up a recipe sheet:
Cheese Dips
1/3 carton of Quark
1 dessert spoon Natural Yogurt
1 dessert spoon Light Mayonaise
Mix all together with a fork and then divide into two bowls.
Into one of these portions ass 1oz grated Cheddar Cheese
Finely chopped Spring Onions
Into the other portion mash 1/2oz Stilton
Serve with celery & carrot sticks or Pringle biscuits.
Salmon Pate
1/3 carton of Quark
1/2 tin Salmon
1.4 teaspoon dried dill
Blend all ingredients together and place in a ramekin dish and chill.
Lemon Dessert
1/3 carton of Quark
1 small Digestive Biscuit
1 heaped teaspoon Lemon Curd
Lemon Zest
Place the whole biscuit at the bottom of the ramekin dish.
Mix together the other ingredients with a fork and place on top of biscuit. Chill.
