Meeting - Wednesday 7th April 2010

Following the business side of the April meeting of Talwrn Lite WI we held an informal hands-on crafting session making felt brooches.

We provided lots of felt, beads, buttons, threads and pins and let the ladies loose with them - they certainly made some stunning pieces.

Carmen, Opera Theatre Trip - 13th March 2010

Our WI had a trip to the theatre in Llandudno recently to see Bizet's opera, Carmen performed by the Welsh National Opera.

It was quite a long production, but stunningly presented and of course the sub-titles helped us along with the story.

Meeting - Wednesday 3rd March 2010

At the March meeting we had a stunning demonstration from a local chocolatier / confectioner Ben Lee. Ben demonstrated how to work with chocolate and created a stunning water lily, assisted by member Anne Weston.

Following the meeting and Guest Speaker at the March meeting we had a St.David's Day supper comprising of Leek & Potato Soup, followed by Bara Brith. Thank you to all those who made the soup. Also, huge thanks to Helen for creating an interesting spin on the raffle prize.

Each member returned home with a little pamper pack for Mother's day with the compliments of Delyth Jones our President

Boo! Last minute cancelled Speaker

Late on Wednesday afternoon we had word from our Chocolatier Guest Speaker that he would not be able to attend that evening due to staffing issues. However, he has promised to make it up to us and speak at another time.

Obviously we were all very disappointed, but our Vice President Sheila happened to have a quiz for us instead.

Meeting - Wednesday 13th January 2010

The guest speaker for January was Ann Lane from Stay Slim with Ann. Ann gave an entertaining and enlightening talk about her own battle with weight, keeping her weight off , becoming a lecturer for Weight Watchers and starting up her own weight management business.

With years of experience she was able to provide information about healthy eating in a relaxed, informal way. Ann provided a fun quiz and finished the evening with some saucy jokes which had our members in stitches.
